Reflecting on Life
Seneca asked himself 3 questions everyday that helped him reflect on life.
Why?
Because reflection allows us to look back on our days and judge ourselves. If you criticize yourself for doing something, more likely than not, you will willingly try not to do it again.
And that is, the 3 questions Seneca asked himself. Generally, the Stoics all practiced self-reflection and these 3 questions were the foundation of it all.
💭 The 3 Questions 💭
1. What did I do wrong?
2. What did I do good?
3. What was left undone?
🌅 Why To Reflect on Life
Life doesn’t change if nothing changes. When we reflect on life, we actively seek out change, and this change will result in a better life with better action.
It’s the simple concept of positive reinforcement: denounce the negative actions and we do them less; uphold the positive and we’ll do them more.
Every night before bed, do exactly that. Question your day. What did you do wrong? What did you good? What was left undone? Over time, you’ll notice that you’re subconsciously growing into a better person.
These 3 questions are further elaborated on in my new video down below!
